ITV 50th Birthday Trailer Idents
Yes it was ITV's 50th birthday in 2006 but they seem to have forgotten who made up the ITV network! Remember the regions? They didn't, all ITV1 stars partying and NO thanks to the regional stations who put them there! Granada take note, there are many of us out there who want them back. Hence, my re-make to include all the forgotten regional ITV stations. ENJOY!
Thanks to tswtim for the insperation!

Sorry, probably …
Sorry, probably someone misunderstood me. I was responding on the comment ‘why there’s no TV-am and GMTV here?’
They are national …
They are national franchisees, not local.
I cannot understand …
I cannot understand why the new ITV have now removed ALL references to local production centres! Surely we all know Emmerdale comes from Yorkshire! And Corrie comes from Manchester! We do not need a pathetic bunch of saddoes from Borehamwood telling us they live in London! Eastwenders? They don’t ! They are in Borehamwood! At least Corrie comes from Manchester, and Emmerdale comes from Yorkshire!
what a mess ITV is …
what a mess ITV is in- yet it seems as if the word ‘regional’ is almost a swear word to the men in suits at ITV plc but I honestly reckon it could be the channels’ saviour. Bernstein must be turning in his grave to see the mess carried out under the name Granada (and lest we forget Carlton either, they keenly snapped up lots of the old ITV network)
Nine days a week? …
Nine days a week? How do you work that one out?
Actually, ITV50 …
Actually, ITV50 began on September 22, 2005. I checked it out on Wikipedia.
And don’t get me …
And don’t get me started on reality shows:
XFactor, Pop Idol, Dancing on Ice, Strictly Come Dancing, Fame Academy, Big Brother, Joseph, Maria etc. SHIT!!!
Bring back Opportunity Knocks, New Faces, Come Dancing – even Stars In Their Eyes. Let’s see REAL talent shows and find some REAL stars – not pretty karaoke singers and celebs trying their hand at acrobatics.
Where’s CITV gone? ITV doesn’t give a flying about kids either.
Next topic – quality of current THEME TUNES! Sing one!
I genuinely can’t …
I genuinely can’t remember the last time I watched ITV1! It’s all crap!
Soaps nine days a week – surely the point of pulling viewers was to have it on once a week? You can drop out of it for weeks (even months) on end, only to return and find that very little change has taken place. Plots are becoming recycled time and again, or writers are just going to absurd and bizarre extremes to keep storylines fresh.
Quality of actors these days is dire too – looks before talent AGAIN.
Very close. It was …
Very close. It was actually meant to represent the green hills and rivers of the Westcountry.
Talk about an …
Talk about an oversight.
I agree.
and i …
I agree.
and i am also in EXETER!
I really miss ITV …
I really miss ITV when it was local and they produced a great number of local programmes. As of next week because Of sheer stupidity we in the westcountry region will no longer have local news as theyve scrapped ITV Westcountry. Instead we are treated to Like X Factor, Dexter, Dancing on Ice. NO More great programmes will ever be made by ITV> Just for the moron masses
The industry nick …
The industry nick named it “Kermit’s bra”
These idents …
These idents preceded a lot of the shows I watched in the 70′s: Man About the House, Upstairs Downstairs, Robin of Sherwoord, Follyfoot…..sigh.
I never understod …
I never understod the full version of the TSW ident – it was too vague and obscure ….the later, shorter version was better . I thought it was meant to be palm trees next to water .
I agree with …
I agree with everything written on here. ITV is so soulless now. Regional identity meant pride in the programmes they produced.
gud trailer, jst a …
gud trailer, jst a shame the sound goes near the end.
I understand that …
I understand that completely – but if you included Granada (who were an even bigger wrecking ball to ITV as it once was), then Carlton should have been there too.
Apart from that, great video.
ITV is an audio …
ITV is an audio visual emetic these days. I am fairly sure that only the lowest genus of chav would sit and revel in the sluice that they have the audacity to call entertainment.
I watched this film with all the idents and I felt a nice feeling of tranquility, albeit nostalgic. I miss all the regional identity that has been superceded by homogenised drivel made by the dross of society for the dross of society.
Judging by the other replies, I’m not the only one bereaved of endearing local TV.
I couldn’t agree …
I couldn’t agree more with the spirit of this video. Unfortunately, ITV is in a ever decreasing spiral. I want my YORKSHIRE Television back!
I don’t know if anyone has seen it but there is a group on facebook called something like Bring Back Regional ITV…
Cheers
Yes thats true and …
Yes thats true and look at who runs it!
lew grade would be …
lew grade would be turning in his grave if he saw ITV like it is today
ITV is rubbish …
ITV is rubbish theese days not just because they dont give a monkeys about the 16 regional companies which as sadly turned into one but all they put on is six days of bloody soaps and bleeding rubbish crime drama wheres all the classic gameshows gone get ur act together ITV now
A couple of minutes …
A couple of minutes of utter bliss! I’m in the Anglia region and always felt proud when one of their classy 90-minute dramas or documentaries was networked. I still can’t believe that Sale of the Century pulled in 21 million viewers. There’s no accounting for taste.
Now, with so many channels all looking and feeling the same, perhaps some pride in our nation’s regions would really hit the spot.
There – I’ve finished. One last look at the clock and we’ll say goodnight. Goodnight.
Quite right too! …
Quite right too! Bloody Carlton and Granada (charles allen in particular) ruined everything
